In 14 Months MTOT Registered 1207 Vessels and Cargo Tankers Enter the Ports of Occupied Crimea

From August 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018 cargo vessels and tankers entered the ports and port waters of the occupied Crimea 1,207 times. The amount of such cases is provided for vessels equipped with AIS (Automatic Identification System).

98 ships under the flag of Russian Federation entered the closed seaports of the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine 1,123 times. 84 times vessels under the flags of other countries entered the ports; under the flag of the Republic of Palau – 20, theTogolese Republic – 17, the Comoro Islands – 10, the Republic of Sierra Leone – 9, the Republic of Moldova – 7, the United Republic of Tanzania – 6, the Republic Panama – 5, Republic of Malta – 3, the Republic of Turkey – 2, Cook Islands – 2, Pitcairn Islands – 1, Republic of Sudan – 1, Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis – 1.

A decreasing number of vessels under the flags of foreign countries that enter the ports has been a tendency in 2018.

During monitoring the violations of the regime of the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, only tankers and cargo ships are taken into consideration.

Remember that seaports located on the territory of Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Evpatoriya, Kerch, Sevastopol, Feodosia, Yalta) are closed by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on April 30, 2014 № 578-р “Some Issues of Functioning of Maritime and River Transport” and in accordance with Ministry of the Infrastructure of Ukraine order of 16.06.2014 № 255 “On closure of seaports”.
